Rometti Vase, Umbertide

Rometti Vase, Umbertide

Glazed ceramic vase featuring a globular body and a slightly flared cylindrical neck, the latter marked by closely spaced horizontal ribs. The body is defined by an irregular, raised grid pattern creating polygonal fields filled with mottled glazes in various shades of green, turquoise, and light blue, accented by occasional pinkish hues. The neck—finished in a more intense, uniform turquoise-green—contrasts the free-form articulation of the body’s surface with a strict, rhythmic sequence of concentric rings.
