Danish Art Nouveau Vase

Danish Art Nouveau Vase

Porcelain vase with a flared body and lobed rim, decorated in the upper band with flowers modeled in relief on a milky, opalescent ground, enlivened by leafy motifs painted in underglaze blue.
On the bottom, an internal mark consisting of a royal crown and the letter “E,” accompanied by the fractional number “109/190,” indicating a special artistic production or a limited series under royal supervision.
The work is part of the Nordic Art Nouveau movement, due to its unified concept of form and decoration and the sculptural treatment of the naturalistic motif, similar to the experiments conducted at the Bing & Grøndahl factory in the early 1900s.
