This glazed, polychrome-decorated earthenware figurine recalls the famous “Doppio Brodo STAR” advertising campaign starring Totò for Carosello, filmed in 1966 and broadcast between 1966 and 1967.

Due to its generous size and quality of execution, it has traditionally been associated with point-of-sale displays—drug stores, delicatessens, and food stores—rather than more common promotional gifts for home use.

The precise origin and dating of this production, however, remain the subject of in-depth documentary research.
