A maiolica vase with a slender baluster shape, polychrome-decorated with the elongated profiles of two female figures; their flowing hair is framed by large roses and leaves—imagery reflecting the Pre-Raphaelite influence characteristic of Galileo Chini’s earliest work, yet reinterpreted through a highly distinctive graphic style.

On the reverse, the figurative imagery gives way to rich floral ornamentation featuring long, sinuous stems, leaves, and drooping blossoms, punctuated by deep cobalt blue areas. Geometric bands in shades of yellow, black, and ivory frame the composition at the top and bottom.
