Royal Copenhagen Trinket Tray

Royal Copenhagen Trinket Tray

Oval porcelain bowl, with a fluted shell interior, shaded in pearly shades of light blue and gray. A three-dimensional naturalistic crab, with finely modeled claws and carapace, is applied to the upper rim. The interior is decorated with underglaze painting featuring a darting fish and thin tufts of wavy seaweed, rendered in gray-brown glazes that evoke an underwater vision, while the exterior features a pattern reminiscent of woven basketry.
