Doccia “Tulip” plate

Doccia “Tulip” plate

Porcelain dinner plate with a lobed shape, a ribbed edge, and a floral decoration featuring tendrils arranged on the rim and in the center in the shape of a peony, of oriental inspiration, amidst leaves and other small flowers. This decoration, originally called “Chinese-style flowers of various colors,” has become known over the centuries as “tulip” due to a misinterpretation.
