Pair of decorative tiles – Richard Ginori

Pair of decorative tiles – Richard Ginori

Pair of square decorative tiles in earthenware decorated with depictions of a rooster on a pile of eggs and a flying goose. The design is achieved by etching the contours into the ceramic paste, then painted with glossy monochrome glazes (in shades of white, blue, and red in one piece, and white, green, and yellow in the other) with a sharp contrast between the contour lines and the color fields, reminiscent of cloisonné workmanship.
The frames are made of wood, decorated with silver leaf and burin engravings.
